Codes 4 Life deliveries supported by Victims of Crime NT
Apr 29, 2021
Desert Knowledge Australia (DKA) and Victims of Crime NT (VoC NT) have entered into a partnership which supports Codes 4 Life workshop deliveries for 2021. The VoC NT sponsorship allows Codes 4 Life to expand its impact in the Central Australian localities of Finke (Aputula), Laramba, Ti Tree, and Harts Range.
Community collaboration plays a crucial role in maximising the impact of social programs; and DKA and VoC NT are pleased to announce a partnership which works to encourage positive behavioural change and prevent violence in Central Australia.
The workshops will host a traditional Codes 4 Life structure to address alcohol and substance abuse; unlawful behaviour; and support the expression of cultural identity. Additionally, these workshops will also include talks on domestic, family and sexual violence and contribute to breaking the cycle of violence in Central Australia.
“Victims of Crime NT are pleased to be working in partnership with Desert Knowledge Australia to impact positively on Central Australia. This project seeks to build cultural knowledge, skills, and responsible attitudes that will contribute to the reduction of harm caused by domestic and family violence incidents in Central Australian communities. We look forward to hearing from participants about their journey through the program and the positive changes they have been able to make as a result.”
